Why should we bailout the automobile industry? They are absolutely not good for it. How about instead they develop alternative fuel technolgies ala Tesla.

Update: I just found out that the White Houses’ solution is to divert current industry loans earmarked for the development of fuel effecient technologies into a short of bailout. Shortsighted? Yes.

Update2: Spending money to make money lives on in an down economy.  ABC news reports that even as they beg the taxpayers to bail them out for bad business practices, the “Big Three” CEO’s still travel in private-jet style.  Rick Wagner of GM reportdly spent $20,000 on his trip from Detroit to DC.
